Joe Carella works with global organizations at the development of their growth strategies. Joe’s professional and academic experience in growth and strategy spans two decades and four continents.
Joe considers himself very honored to have worked with people from 70 different cultures and to have advised and implemented projects from the Board level down within many Fortune Global 1000 organizations.
As a Faculty at the University of Arizona and of the Thunderbird School of Global Management, Joe is tasked with designing, developing and delivering executive education programs for global corporations. His range of responsibilities has encompassed merger integration, strategy formulation, testing and planning, cross-cultural leadership and strategy alignment.
Over the past 10 years, Joe has worked with a variety of organizations in their strategy development initiatives. His engagements vary, from mature market private and public entities such Hershey, Raytheon, Essilor, Chevron, Intel, Fender Musical Instruments, Magna, the New Zealand business development agency, to emerging market organizations such as Grupo Alfa, Telkom Indonesia, Bank Mandiri, Xenel Industries and the Jamaican Government.
Joe began his career as a strategy consultant, where he ultimately served as strategic advisor to a variety of global organizations such as British Telecommunication, Whirlpool, the London 2012 Olympics, Telenor, Raytheon, BBVA and Discover Financial Services. Joe’s academic research focuses on global corporate strategies, strategic decision-making and the development of new business models for a changing global economy. He believes that the next decade will see technological and societal change fundamentally disrupt corporate strategy formulation and execution in industries such as the real estate, telecommunication and media and the food industry.
